Spin Up a AWS EC2/Virtual machine/ Environment using Cloud9

1. What is CLOUD9

Cloud9 is a popular cloud-based integrated development environment (IDE) that allows developers to write, run, and debug code in a web-based environment. It provides a collaborative and flexible workspace for software development teams, making it easy to work on projects together from anywhere in the world

2. Spin up a cloud9 environment

Please follow the below steps to provision or spin up a cloud9 environment

  1. Go to the AWS console, search for cloud9 in the Service search, and click on the first item which you found in the search

  2. Then Click on create an Environment on the right upper corner of the screen

    1. It will open a window to create the environment, then input the environment name, I entered mycloud9, Description is optional, and leave the rest of the components as default. As it will take the default VPC, choose platform “Amazon Linux 2” then click on create which is the last option on the right side on the bottom of the screen

      1. It will take a few minutes to create the environment then it will be available in the list of environments, select the radio button of the environment which you have just created and click on open.

        1. When you open click on open it will open the environment in a new window

          7. Close the welcome page from the top and start working in the terminal which is at the bottom of the screen.

Hurray! Your cloud environment is ready in just a few minutes with a few steps.

PS: Please terminate the environment once you finish your task as it will occur the billing
